Our instructor is John Haslam. John is the most experienced customized trainer of Solid Edge in the United States. Currently in his 20th year as a mechanical design software trainer and consultant, Haslam has logged more than 20,000 hours of in-class training since 1987.

John’s ability to combine technical knowledge and a unique personality set his training apart from the rest. John has the confidence and skills to work outside the "canned training" offered by the software companies. He can attack any problem thrown at him in real time.

Center-Based Training Solutions is scheduled for a variety of dates and locations and allows users to attend training in a dedicated classroom with high-performance computers. Our training centers are conveniently located in Alpharetta, Georgia and Huntsville, Alabama.

PLM Leader Training is centered around the application of concepts learned through hands-on client site workshops. We provide a graphics workstation for every student so they can individually work with the software at their own pace.

Limited Class Enrollment top of page

We restrict the enrollment of our classes to 10 students to increase the effectiveness of the training. Limited class size encourages interaction and individual attention, thus increasing your ability to learn.

** Must have Productivity Fundamentals as Pre-Requisite - in Atlanta, Huntsville or at a customer site.

The Productivity Fundamentals I with Solid Edge class will focus on creating fully-parametric part models, placing models in simple assemblies, and creating drawing sheets. The class will become familiar with the Solid Edge user interface, adding features, sketching tools and various modeling techniques. Other topics will include all major commands in the Part, Assembly and Draft environments of Solid Edge. Students are encouraged to bring their own sketches and design ideas to work from, as John will stress real world case scenarios.
$450 a day per student

The Sheet Metal Productivity Fundamentals I with Solid Edge design class will focus on the skills and concepts central to the use of Solid Edge Sheet Metal and the potential uses of production level sheet metal design. Students will become familiar with the Solid Edge user interface, reference planes, profile/sketching tools and flat pattern drawing creation. Students are encouraged to bring their own sketches and design ideas to work from, as John will stress real world case scenarios.
$450 a day per student

INTRODUCING NEW Solid Edge Advanced Assembly Training Class
The Solid Edge Advanced Assembly Training Class will focus on:

  • Family of assemblies
  • Motion studies including render and animation using the variable table to control all models in the assembly
  • linking parts in assembly to other parts so that dimensional modifications update all models
  • creating a part that is associative to other parts
  • using the Sketch function in assembly modeling

Students are encouraged to bring their own sketches and design ideas to work from, as John will stress real world case scenarios.
$450 a day per student

4-Day Plastics, Casting and Forging and Surface Modeling class.
This class includes:

  • developing parting lines
  • applying draft to models
  • rounding scenarios
  • the use of surface modeling to assist in creating parts, molds and dies
  • using coordinate systems to position parts to create molds and dies

1-Day Virtual Studio Plus Class.
The class includes allows you to quickly and accurately render your images at any stage of the design process and providing you with the ability to simulate a wide range of sophisticated materials, colors, textures, scenes and real lighting situations, to create high quality photorealistic renderings of parts or assemblies.

Prerequisite for Plastics/Castings/Forging/Surfacing class and Advanced Assembly class is completion of Productivity Fundamentals I with Solid Edge class.
